manilenya - Last updated: Saturday, July 12, 2008I blogged about how I was so upset when this child called me idiot because I kept her toys while she was still playing with it. I admit that I was kind of distressed during my first few months working with the youngest daughter of my employer, the new environment was so different for me that I don’t know how to muddle through when I am with the three siblings, especially when all of them are gushed with rage (lol! As in I am feeling I am in the middle of war whenever they are fighting).
However, working with them for almost a year now is a work in progress, although I sometimes still having a hard time with this little girl, I know I can sway with her moods now.
She’s not calling me idiot anymore. There is yelling and screaming now and then but she knows when to stop when I say stop.
She sometimes calls me mom, and then she remembers I am her nanny. She called me step mom once that jolted me from my sit. Of course, if you say step mom, there’s only one that comes to my mind and that is the wicked step mom in the fairy tales, so I asked her to call me God Mother instead.
“Why are you calling me step mom/God mom anyway?” I asked her.
“Because you are just like my mom, you are feeding me, bath me, taking care of me, and you love me. I love you God mom.”
Today, she was so bored, I came to her, and she shoo me away. When I lay down in the laundry room, it puts a smile on her face and decided to join me. I say that we had fun playing Frisbee outside, and I asked her to join me playing basketball, she refused at first but join me after when she saw that I was having fun.
When I saw her turn in her bubbles, I grabbed my point and shoot camera and got some pictures of her. She is always a stunning model to me.

manilenya - Last updated: Sunday, July 6, 2008I said that I have to move my butt from laziness. I feel so sluggish making a post after three consecutive sponsored posts; it is so unlikely of me if you’re going to ask some friends/readers about this whole blog monetizing changes in my site. A blogger who once thought that making my blog a business will corrupt my mind (pardon my little brain exposing my then thought.) Even so, I have to accept now that I enjoy it, when I see my PayPal account accumulate some bucks from advertisers.
I enjoy everything about it, except of course if I know nothing about the given task, it screwed up my mind, it seems like playing a 2500 piece of puzzle, It’s challenging though. I have to read the product or the sites first before I do the task and finding myself typing a blah blah blah in the end. Still, I have to be thankful because the advertisers accept the posts.
My next? That’s a big problem, what do I know about a hen party? But still I have to do that assignment, especially now that I intended to buy Nikon D60. I said, I want to get the camera by hook or by crook (insert a cynical smiley face here), and I don’t have anything in mind where to get the money to buy my next baby but doing some product or site review and maybe affiliation soon.
I’m doomed to pursue a business until I get my US$700. Wow! I just set a goal now, I can’t believe it.
Now I want to show you this photo I took yesterday afternoon, after playing in the trampoline, yes I played with them, and I did nothing but to scream while the big girl, Miranda, doing her usual gymnastic stunt in the trampoline. It just makes me believe that I am getting older and older; I can’t do the jump as higher as the kids do anymore and my knees are now complaining (Jesus! I want to cry.)
They asked me to change into a bathing suit after the trampoline fun and go straight to the pond, but I declined. I told them I’ll just watch them because I didn’t bring any bathing suit, I’m too shy to wear one, maybe some other time.
I could be better if I’ll post as the photographer of a real action gymnast stunt by this pretty and surprising Miranda in the dock. She’s good, I wonder why she stopped attending her gymnastic class. What’s funny here is she did a lot of stunts in the dock but scared to touch the turtle with her feet while swimming in the pond.

manilenya - Last updated: Friday, June 27, 2008I was invisible and visible at the same time. Invisible to some because I am nobody and visible to some because I am somebody that they consider worth bullying.
In my younger years, it was so upsetting and that leads to my inferiority complex. However, when I’m already blogging, I realized that everything is worth blogging. That makes me happy because, when I think about those ridiculous things from the past, my fingers are so energized to type, it didn’t affect my disposition anymore. I even can play words with it, low self-esteem didn’t vanish though.
Now, I am blogging because……dyaran!!!!

manilenya - Last updated: Sunday, June 8, 2008It’s hard to refuse a tag if it comes to Ms. Leah, although I don’t do some of her tags, and I don’t want to justify my shortcomings, this one is a tag in support for all my fellow women who’s suffering from this perilous disease.
Ms. Leah shared this to me.

Help spread the awareness on the Breast Cancer Awareness month of June. Please help convey the importance of regular examination and early detection of breast cancer in order to catch this disease when it first erupts, maximizing the chance of survival and recovery.
These are the some information/symptoms that I’ve got upon searching the net regarding Breast Cancer.
* A change in how the breast or nipple feels
* A lump or thickening in or near the breast or in the underarm area
* Nipple tenderness
* A change in how the breast or nipple looks
* A change in the size or shape of the breast
* A nipple turned inward into the breast
* The skin of the breast, areola, or nipple may be scaly, red, or swollen. It may have ridges or pitting so that it looks like the skin of an orange.
* Nipple discharge (fluid)
* Early breast cancer usually does not cause pain. Still, a woman should see her health care provider about breast pain or any other symptom that does not go away. Most often, these symptoms are not due to cancer. Other health problems may also cause them. Any woman with these symptoms should tell her doctor so that problems can be diagnosed and treated as early as possible.

Help spread awareness. You can help the lives of many women by spreading the word about The Breast Cancer Site. If The Breast Cancer Site receives 8 million clicks on the pink button in June, their premier sponsor -Bare Necessities- will donate $10,000 for more free mammograms. CLICK the pink button today!
Here I am tagging Jena Isle, Ate Liza (my tatay’s wife hehehe!), tin-tin, She also known as Sasha (I am used to call her in her real nickname) and Karen (although I love her malaya’s nick)

manilenya - Last updated: Thursday, May 29, 2008I assumed you have noticed some bloggers who visits your sites and telling you how they like your blog and would want to exchange links with you. I have many of them in my tag board. First, they will drop a line, usually hi! Hello! How are you? (lol! They aren’t that concern, don’t believe me.)After a few days, they will come back and tell you how much they like your post, and if you want to exchange link.
Some of them write comments in my post, and I tell you, they are making my ears clap. As a result, I am going to visit their sites and tell them how I appreciate their nice comment, and I would gladly have them in my link, which I actually do. I, more often than not, add these people in my link. EVEN WITHOUT THEM ADDING ME! (I hope these people read this out loud) Well, anyway, I don’t really mind these bloggers, unless they post good contents.
Now I suppose, I need to stop ranting. Instead of adding them in my blogroll, I am going to put a HTML code in my sidebar, which I saw in 23Blogs.com - FREE Blog Roll TEXT Link Exchange.(1:10).
This code will display 10 other different blogs titles on this blog, and I will earn 10x impressions after I put the CODE on my blog. In addition to that , I will get 1:1 click exchange, meaning when my visitors click the ad box , I will credit 1 click and the system will PAY back 1 click to me.
Cool diba?

manilenya - Last updated: Tuesday, May 27, 2008I said I don’t want to make meme anymore, but I have three reasons why I can’t turn down this meme. Firstly, it’s from Ate Liza, and if it’s from Ate Liza it must be good (Seiko!). Secondly, it’s about me and my daughter. I don’t post about my daughter that much, but my online friends knows how passionate I am when I blog about “my baby” who told me yesterday morning when I called her that she already has boobs (her term). I swear I can’t stop laughing. I find her so open to her femininity which I wasn’t when I was her age. In fact, I remember myself crying when my uncle used to sing me “bata pa si sabel (sabel is still a kid)” or “dalaga na si sabel (sabel is now a lady)” (which ever that is, I can’t recall any more). Well, it’s good because it shows that she’s confident with herself and she’s starting to discover womanhood, which means……I AM GETTING OLD!!! Shucks! I can’t believe I’m getting old lol!
And lastly, I thought I was pretty in this photo. :p

manilenya - Last updated: Sunday, May 25, 2008My friend and I were actually planning things to break off our boredom during weekends or is it me that is so insistent (?) because she can kill time by watching old Filipino movies that my aunt’s borrowed from her relatives. And I am not.
She said she usually went out with friends, whenever she feels liked it back in the Philippines and so did I. One time we really want to go out and rush to a bar or a dance as they called it, but my uncle who was supposed to drive us, had to change his mind. We both need a time off and be merry even for a night, but that’s the glitch of being new to one country and positioned to a town that has no buses, cab to another town is so expensive. The people who we assume can go with us and have a free drive prefer to sit in front of playing cards instead of joining us. In the end, my friend will go to play with them, and I am left out in front of my computer…my ever loving laptop that have no choice but to embrace me every time a situation has to isolate me.
This weekend, she has decided not to stay with me in my uncle’s place due to financial constraint and the idea maybe add up to her boredom or, to say it all, lonesomeness, that she asked me to have a coffee with her when my employer dropped me off.
There is this cafe in downtown Alliston features arts and gourmet eats and treats and live entertainment. We don’t need to ask somebody to drive us both as it is just a walking distance away.

We always see what’s happening in the cafe every Thursday where they are having an “Open mic” in our weekly paper, and this is the nearest “refuge” for the “dead-beat” soul like the two of us, and so off we went to there.
The cakes were pretty good, the coffee was splendid (any kind of coffee is very good for me), the staff were so friendly that you would like to hang-out there every day and to top it all, there was this lady who plays wonderful jazz music with her guitar. I find her impressive especially when she performs The Rolling Stones Goodbye Ruby Tuesday which we thought was Rod Stewart’s Stairway to Heaven when we heard the intro of her guitar.
It was the first time that I heard that song actually, and I thought it was a very nice song. Too bad we need to leave the lady still performing for I don’t want to walk on home on the dark street.
So I guess I had an interesting weekend…..that is sweet!
Before I forget, I still have to mutters…..

manilenya - Last updated: Monday, May 19, 2008I don’t know what comes to me when I signed up to Mariposa’s invitation on FUN MONDAY’s assignment, she hosted today’s topic which is collection.
I don’t collect anything to tell you honestly. Once I considered of collecting Bratz dolls because my daughter wants to have those, I’m sure everything that I will buy will stay with me for a while, since we’re miles apart. I also bought some protagonists miniature of one movie that I really liked which is THE MATRIX. I saw them on sales, and I can’t help buying them. But I haven’t bought any after that.
Every time, I go on shopping, there’s always a thing or two that I want to buy and collect but my sister who always with me disagreed each time she sees me glancing with some stuff with all hearts in it. She said, it such a waste of money.
But this one, I can’t really refrain from buying no matter what the people I am with blabbering.

I also have one box of kiddie books which my employer gave me when I told her that I am planning to collect books for Filipino children whose family cannot afford to buy one for them. I got the idea when I saw my uncle stashing my cousin’s book shelves and throw books that he thought the kids don’t browse anymore.
There goes my collection. I don’t have so many like C Gonzales books, I am starting collecting though and I have more which I left in the Philippines.
Go visit the other Fun Monday participants… start a collection of collections…..

manilenya - Last updated: Wednesday, May 7, 2008I got tagged again by Ate Liza, this one, I wouldn’t want to ignore. Who’s going to miss a mother’s day entry? Not me.
My mother is my backbone. Even I brazen out of life challenges, I could say that my life is really wonderful because somebody is not only walking side by side with me, but carries me a lot of times. Problems are nothing, with my mother around.
Here’s to my mother and to all mother out there. Cheers to us!

manilenya - Last updated: Tuesday, April 29, 2008This is another weekly meme and I can’t ignore Ivan’s invitation, she’s one blogger that always remember my blog even I don’t visit hers regularly. Aside from that, I find She says, He says interesting to make.
According to Ivan:
The idea is that any of these: a question, fill in the blank, multiple choices, photo or a writing prompt will be posted here. Express your thoughts in your blog and feel free to leave a link to your blog with your answers when you’re done. Anyone can hop in and join the fun every Tuesday! =)
Today’s activity is a question.
What is your regular day like?
I am a Live-In Caregiver, and I find my day as stay at home wife and a mother usually does; only I am employed to do that. And only I submit to the wife and most importantly, the the youngest daughter. I am glad that both my employers don’t treat me differently though.
I start my day in the kitchen, second to the washrooms; I believe the kitchen should be always clean. Every time the kids mess up, I see the needs to tidy up the place again. I do the laundry and cooking also. I clean the whole house if the kids are in school, and I play and watch TV with the youngest, whenever she’s at home, that’s cool eh? If I don’t play and watch TV or movies with her, I’m in total trouble. I don’t want that to happen.
